Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for Me?
The Criteria
What does it take to qualify as a Bariatric surgery candidate? If you meet the following criteria, treatment may be a possibility for you:- 100 pounds or more over your ideal body weight
- A Body Mass Index (BMI)* of 40kg/m2 or 35-39.9 with co-morbidities (Use our Body Mass Calculator to determine you BMI.)
- Failure at previous weight loss attempts
- Limitations in daily activities, such as performing job duties and caring for your family.
*The BMI correlates with the amount of fat in a person’s body; a BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight, 30 or higher is considered obese. Find out your BMI by using our Body Mass Calculator:
